Io Perl is an artist based in Brooklyn, NY. She makes drawings as the material product of her research into, and/or embeddedness in, various social worlds taking place online, offline, or in between. Recent projects include Riley 2008 and Janet, self-published zines tracking her devotional engagement with a single image. Her drawing practice is in continuous relation with writing and documentary filmmaking, notably her long-term collaboration with a group of body suspension practitioners who tour the US. She earned a BA in anthropology from Wesleyan University in 2024 and apprenticed at All Wolves No Sheep Professional Tattooing in Brooklyn, NY prior to that.
